Why is JAMBO CAFE a Farm to Restaurant participant?
Chef and owner Ahmed Obo buys his local produce at the Farmers Market and will be receiving delivers from the Farm to Restaurant Delivers program. He purchases onions, potatoes, squash, tomatoes and greens. He also purchases about 80-100 lbs. of lamb from Talus Wind Ranch per week.
Why is purchasing local food important to you?
"It tastes fresh. I like that it comes local - right round the corner. I like that the ranchers take care of their animals instead of factory farming. And it just tastes better!"Ask the staff!
Chef Ahmed shares with his staff the details of the local produce that he is using in dishes.
What's his favorite local food?
Corn - it's fresh, juicy, can be picked in the morning and the table that evening.
