Why is ATRISCO CAFE & BAR a Farm to Restaurant participant?
Owner George Gundrey has direct relationships with different producers who deliver directly to his restaurant, plus he buys quite a bit of local food through wholesalers where he knows where it was raised. His big items are beef and lamb. He likes to know how and where it's grown and what the animals are fedWhy is buying local important?
"The reasons I buy local food is because our customers like it and the quality is better. Also, I like being able to check on my producers to see if they are doing what they claim in terms of growing practices."
What does he buy & who does he buy from?
Lettuce and tomatoes all season and other stuff here and there from One Straw FarmLamb ribs from Shepherd’s Lamb
Leg of lamb from Talus Wind Ranch
